CNC SUPERBOWL ELECTION AD HIGHLIGHTS THE POWER OF THE LATINA VOTE

THE GAME-CHANGING VOTER ENGAGEMENT ADS WERE A STRATEGIC MOVE FOR LATINA EMPOWERMENT AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

California In a groundbreaking Super Bowl moment, Communities for a New California (CNC) strategically broadcast a game-changing Lúcete Latina campaign ad that was shown three times in-game on Univision 21 (Fresno) and Univision 39 (Bakersfield). This investment not only marks the beginning of the powerful 2024 Lúcete Latina campaign but also aims to captivate media outlets covering Latinos, politics, and even sports, emphasizing the significant impact of Latina voters in California.

Latino majority districts in California translate to Latina power. Because Latina voters consistently outperform their Latino male counterparts in voting; Latinas from the ages of 18 to 64 are more likely to vote than their male counterparts.

  • 22 of the 80 new state Assembly districts now have a Latino majority.
  • 10 of the 40 state Senate districts have a Latino majority.
  • 16 of 52 California’s congressional districts now have a Latino majority.

Hatzune Aguilar, CNC Director of Strategic Engagement, issued the following statement:

“There are 3.2 million registered Latina voters in California. That’s 1 of every 6 registered California voters. That is especially significant in regions like the Central and San Joaquin Valley where elections are often decided by less than 5,000 votes. This underscores their vital role in shaping our political landscape, not only locally but also nationally. Eligible Latina voters saw a 50% increase from 2012 to 2020, contributing to a national Latino voting eligible population exceeding 36 million.”

“The Lúcete Latina campaign has a dual purpose: to inform, mobilize, and inspire Latina engagement for a more inclusive democratic process, and to emphasize this power for candidates, officials, and local women to recognize and activate.

“As the Super Bowl represents a major cultural moment, the Lúcete Latina campaign seizes the opportunity to inspire change and elevate Latina voices in our largest arenas. The ad placement, carefully crafted for maximum impact, served as a rallying point for Latinas, acknowledging their leadership and encouraging active participation in the democratic process.”

Leveraging the momentum of the Super Bowl ads, CNC remains committed to engaging Latinas, starting with the California Latina Voter Town Hall – "Primary Power: The Latina Vote," scheduled for Tuesday, February 13th, from 6 pm - 7 pm PT. The town hall will feature more of the 12  Lúcete  Latina videos highlighting California women and key Latina voter information
