Edith Cebreros serves as Administrative Associate and Community Organizer for CNC Education Fund in the Coachella Valley. She comes from a family of agricultural farmworkers and was raised in a single-mother household where hard work, resilience, and sacrifice were part of everyday life. Her family dedicated themselves to cultivating and harvesting crops, and as a child, Edith spent time in a small rural town in the mountains of Sinaloa, Mexico, before moving to the Coachella Valley at the age of six.

Growing up between two cultures shaped Edith's identity and instilled in her a deep commitment to education, community, and the earth. She experienced these values firsthand during daily family gatherings, where she, her siblings, and her cousins worked together, cracking cacahuates (peanuts) by hand to fill sacks that her grandfather would later sell in bulk. What might have felt like a chore became a time to connect and learn. Those moments taught her the dignity of labor and the value of collective effort, lessons that continue to guide her work today.

During her final year of college, Edith joined CNC as a phone banker and door-to-door canvasser, engaging her neighbors across the Coachella Valley. She came to deeply value one-on-one conversations with community members who shared their firsthand experiences of the issues affecting them, conversations that revealed how much she still had to learn and that deepened her understanding of community needs and civic engagement. She went on to serve as a team lead, guiding 20 canvassers and phone bankers on civic engagement projects focused on prioritizing schools and communities. Her work spanned phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and voter engagement, including the Cuenta Conmigo 2020 Census Program and COVID-19 outreach.

Driven by a desire to better understand how groups of people and societies function, Edith earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from California State University, San Bernardino. She also holds an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, reflecting her belief that early development plays a critical role in shaping who we become. While studying in that field, she supported childcare activities during CNC community workshops at local libraries, an early expression of the same commitment to community that defines her work today.
